Marissa Rodríguez, the mother of the twin babies who died after being forgotten by their father in a car, spoke of the nightmare that she had to live through. The woman, who lives in New York, admitted that she is still in shock after the deaths of her children Luna and Phoenix. Her husband Juan Rodríguez faces second-degree manslaughter charges after confessing that he had forgotten the children inside his car, where they were exposed to extreme heat. The father went to work in the Bronx for eight hours before returning to the car and realizing that the babies had died of heat stroke. The father assures that he thought he had left the children in the nursery and did not realize that they were in the vehicle.
The father, who was released from prison after posting bail from the press after the tragedy. "He is a good person and a great father and I know he would never do anything to intentionally hurt our children."
"I don't want to be here, I don't want this to be my story," Marissa told Dr. Phil during a recent interview for her show. "He was screaming," she added of her husband's reaction when she realized that her children had died after leaving them forgotten. "The police did not allow me to see the children," the mother confessed tearfully. “I have been very angry. I just couldn't understand how this happened."
