Country music is in mourning.

Country singer Kylie Rae Harris of Wylie, Texas died Wednesday in an accident in New Mexico, her publicist confirmed to Billboard.

The accident occurred on State Highway 522 in Taos County in the afternoon hours. The accident killed Harris and a 16-year-old girl, the sheriff's office confirmed.

"We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris died in a car accident last night," her publicist told Billboard. “We have no further details to share, and we request privacy for your family at this time. Everyone who knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music. The best tribute to their unrivaled enthusiasm for both of them is to spread as much love as you can today and listen to music that completely inspires you,”said the statement from Harris' representatives.

In his last tweet before his death, he appeared to be heading for Taos. According to her website, she was slated to perform at Michael Hearne's Big Barn Dance Music Festival in Taos.

“The fuel range is 46 miles and I am 36 from the nearest service station. Dear baby Jesus, please don't let me be stranded in NM.”

The North Texas native's last work was a self-titled EP released in March. She previously recorded two other albums: "Taking It Back" and "What The Heart wants".

The young singer is survived by her 6-year-old daughter.

On social networks, the artist's colleagues and fans mourned her death.

“The music world has lost a beautiful, noble, and incredibly talented woman. Rest in peace Kylie Rae Harris,”said singer Pat Green.
