The fire that destroyed much of the historic Notre Dame de Paris cathedral on Monday continues to give much to talk about. There are those who affirm that the figure of Jesus Christ is visible among the flames that consumed the ceiling and the temple spire.

Images circulating in agencies such as Getty show flames and a column of smoke rising above the temple built in the Middle Ages. There, in the center of the intense fire, a silhouette is seen, a gleaming figure in a kind of bell-sleeved tunic, similar to the one generally used to represent Christ.

The figure appears in the middle of the scaffolding that surrounded the structure during its maintenance and remodeling work.

One of the first people to point it out was Lesley Rowan, a Scottish woman who posted the image on Facebook. Maybe I'm letting my mind fool me, but hey: People, pay attention to this photo and tell me what you see. I even circulated the photo !!!”exclaimed the woman

The post was awash with comments from those who claimed to see the silhouette of Christ. “I can see her clearly, with the robe and everything. I saw it right away: it's Jesus!”Someone exclaimed. Logically there were those who denied the vision saying that they did not see 'nothing' or that it was just a 'statue'.

“When I looked at the photo last night I was really surprised by what I saw. When I look at her I see the silhouette of Jesus, I really see the living image of Jesus, "the woman later told the British newspaper Daily Record. "I think it is something that will bring some comfort to the people of Paris and around the world at this sad time."

The devastating fire started around 7:00 pm local time and burned uncontrollably for a couple of hours, destroying the roof, stained glass, and the spire of the Catholic Church.

The cathedral was in the midst of a million dollar renovation. Despite the fact that by this restructuring multiple works of art, sculptures and relics had been removed, many other historical jewels of humanity still remained inside the majestic temple. Among them were the Stone of the Holy Sepulcher and the Piece of the Cross, in addition to a historic organ that apparently did not suffer major damage.
