After the Amazon owner announced Wednesday that he was divorcing the woman he had been married to for 25 years, the bomb exploded when Pagesix revealed that same afternoon that Bezos had long had a burning romance with a married woman and that her name it was Lauren Sanchez.
Over several months, it is said, Bezos, 54, and Sanchez, 49, held an affair whose photos and details were about to explode thanks to a scandalous report from the National Enquirer magazine where the story would be aired.

According to said publication, the couple had intimate meetings on at least 6 occasions within a period of 14 days, including during the recent celebration of Fathers 'Day on the school campus of one of Bezos' children, held at the prestigious MIT in Massachussetts.
Sanchez is an experienced New Mexico-born reporter and former host for Good Day LA (FOX Los Angeles). She is married to powerful Hollywood producer Patrick Whitesell.
And although Sánchez and Bezos remained legally linked to their respective consorts, the first had separated from her husband in the fall and Bezos had been going through a marriage crisis for a long time, according to multiple sources.
"Patrick and Lauren were socializing with Jeff Bezos and his wife for years, because both [now former] couples had houses in Seattle," a source told PageSix. Then Lauren was hired to work with Blue Origin, one of Bezos' projects, a space projects company, as a helicopter pilot. She has been taking aerial shots for Bezos.”
