The murder of the 8-month-old baby King Jay Dávila has caused shock. The boy disappeared from a gas station in San Antonio, Texas. He was in his father's car, who said he had left the baby alone with the car's engine running while he got off to buy something at the gas station store. Upon returning, the father told authorities that the boy had been kidnapped. However, the father of the little Christopher Dávila, 34, is behind bars today as a suspect in his murder, as well as two other members of the boy's family, Telemundo reported. The boy's paternal grandmother, Beatrice Sampayo, and Christopher Dávila's cousin, Angie Torres, were also arrested in connection with the crime.
The father confessed to authorities that he was caring for the baby on January 3 at his home. Police report that the father said he was playing video games and the baby fell out of bed, hitting his head hard with a piece of furniture. Instead of seeking medical help or calling 911 for fear of retaliation, he waited hours and then orchestrated the alleged kidnapping of the baby with the help of his mother and cousin as accomplices.
Torres is the woman who appears hooded in surveillance videos taking the car with the boy from the gas station. The father had drugs and a firearm when he was arrested and is in jail on more than $ 1 million bail, according to an official report.
Hundreds of people have left signs of their love for the child after the tragedy was revealed. Many have left stuffed animals, balloons, veils, letters and other gifts at the site where the baby's body was found buried. The police found the body after an extensive search that lasted more than a week. It was the boy's own father who took authorities to the place where the child's body was buried. His little body was wrapped in a sheet inside a backpack. The parents were separated and King Jay's mother, Jasmine González, is still in shock after the boy's death. She herself joined the desperate search for the little boy, which ended in tragedy. Rest in peace.
