Parents in California have been accused of torturing their children and of keeping them living in deplorable conditions, in a house full of garbage and excrement, according to Univisión. California Solano County authorities rescued the 10 children, ages 4 months to 12 years old.
The couple denies abuse and mistreatment to their children, but according to the police, the parents burned, beat and even shot him with a pellet gun "simply for sadism."
Authorities went to the home when parents reported that their oldest son was missing. Agents found the boy hidden in a bush and upon taking him home they realized the horrible conditions in which they lived, according to reports. Authorities reported that they found trash, spoiled food, and droppings throughout the Fairfield residence.
"Official's found unsafe conditions and unhealthy, like trash and food in poor condition in the soil, feces of animals and humans and a lot of debris that make areas of the house are impassable", said Lt. Greg Hurlbut. It was the children themselves, according to the authorities, who informed them of the torture and everything they suffered at their parents' house.
The 28-year-old Jonathan Allen, the children's father, is under arrest on seven charges of torture and nine of child abuse. Ina Rogers, 30, the mother, was detained for negligence but released after posting bail of $ 10,000.
