New York Man Arrested For Decapitated Woman

Investigators arrested a young man from New York in Japan, who is accused of beheading and dismembering a young woman he met through the dating app Tinder.

Yevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar, 26, had been questioned days ago after the disappearance of a 27-year-old girl. The young office worker was last seen on February 16 entering the suspect's rental apartment in Osaka.

According to the New York Daily News, the two met at a train station on February 16 at around midnight. Later, security cameras captured the couple entering the building. Between February 16 and 18, Bayraktar was recorded by these cameras leaving the place carrying a very large bag. But she was not seen anymore.

A search of the apartment rented by the boy residing in Mastic Beach, Long Island, revealed the horrible discovery of a woman's head.

On Thursday, Bayraktar was arrested and confessing to his crime, he explained that he had scattered the girl's body parts in mountainous locations in Osaka and Kyoto prefectures. Thanks to this, the police were able to find the victim's arms, legs and torso.

Bayraktar is now facing criminal charges for leaving a woman's body and damaging a body.

"I always thought he was a little strange," Benny Dacy, the killer's former stepfather, told the New York Daily News. The Texas-based man explained that fifteen years ago he had married Regina Mishura, Bayraktar's mother, through a bridal mail service.

He also explained that the woman and her son - both from Ukrania - left without warning and that years later he heard from her again when he called to ask if the divorce had been finalized.

"He was a terribly shy young man," Dacy continued, stating that she did not even know that her ex and the young man had moved to Long Island. “He had friends, but he was very ugly and clumsy. I never thought I could do something like that. Something so terrible."
