Mother Teased Daughter During Suicide

The young woman's mother, who left many netizens stunned when she broadcast her suicide live on Facebook in December, would have seen the young woman take her own life and in a mocking tone would have even insulted her while doing so. This is indicated by a new report released by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

According to those authorities, Gina Caze, mother of Naika Venant, was among the hundreds of people who watched the 14-year-old girl through Facebook Live talk about committing suicide and finally hang a scarf on the door of the bathtub of her home. Although the transmission of her suicide lasted about three hours - and apparently Caze saw two of these - he did nothing to stop her. Mother and daughter were not living together at the time of Venant's death because the girl was living in a foster home.

According to reports by People magazine and the New York Daily News, a few days after her death, Caze burst into tears at a press conference when she spoke of Venant's suicide, declaring that she was "sick and devastated by this tragedy."

But authorities believe she may have stopped the suicide, as they discovered messages she sent to her daughter during its broadcast. In these, while the young woman cries and laments before killing herself, Caze insults her by telling her to stop pretending that she is going to kill herself, that is why she is where she is and that life would continue after a brat like her dies and be buried.

This new information also reveals a turbulent relationship between Venant and Caze, who twice lost custody of her, causing the young woman to be transferred to fourteen temporary homes over a period of nine months. Caze's defense attorney has denied the allegations against him.
