You're probably a fan of Eva Longoria from the days when she played Gabrielle Solis at Desperate Housewives, but did you know that the actress is also a designer and a fashion fanatic?

Taking advantage of the fact that this Thursday she will launch her new spring / summer 2018 collection on the HSN shopping channel, we spoke with the Texan about the experiences that have led her to design this fashion line and how difficult it is to look and look good when you're pregnant. She knows it well!

You started sewing at 7 years old, who taught you?

I have no idea, I asked my mother and she says it wasn't her. I was always sewing pillows, Halloween costumes, dresses for my friends … it's always been in my DNA.

At what point in your career did you decide to add a designer to your resume?

I always wanted to, but it's a full time job. When I was at Desperate Housewives I was too busy and I didn't want to put my name on a brand and that's it, I wanted to design everything and become part of the DNA of the brand that is me, what I wear, my travels …

We love printed bomber jackets, what is your favorite piece in the collection?

This collection is very feminine and romantic, a color palette much lighter than that of autumn, white cotton, pastel colors … I love bombers because they are very classic, they don't go out of style and also jumpsuits, I call them onesies. […]. They are very easy to accessorize and carry.

Tell us about the philosophy from work to wine of your fashion line

I believe that you don't have to have two different cabinets, one to work and the other to have fun. [That's why] Most of these pieces can be incorporated into your social life, you don't need one for the day and one for the night.

Has your understanding of fashion and style changed now that you are pregnant?

Being pregnant changes everything. Nothing is made for a belly, nothing that is stylish. My main goal in this pregnancy is to be comfortable and it is super uncomfortable to have a huge belly […] gain weight in rare areas [of your body]. So I definitely haven't incorporated any of this into my collection.

And do you see yourself designing maternity clothes in the future?

Nerd.

Eva Longoria's collection is now available on the HSN website and she will present it herself on the shopping channel this coming Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23.
