Meet the exotic model that adorns the important cover.

Being part of the Sport Illustrated magazine swimsuit edition is a great achievement for any model, especially for those just starting out. And it is that this is the most important edition of the year of the prestigious publication that chooses the most sexy and spectacular women in the world to be part of such an important project. Now, it is one thing to be on the pages that make up the magazine and quite another to be chosen to decorate the cover. That is indeed a dream come true for many young women in the modeling world. But can you imagine being on the cover without a clue of this? Well that was what happened to Danielle Herrington, who took the surprise of her life when she received the incredible news.

The young California native first posed for the magazine in 2017, and this year she became the third black woman to appear on such an important cover since the magazine was founded in 1964. The first was Tyra Banks, who appeared on the 1996 cover along with the also model Valeria Mazza. In 1997 Banks appeared alone on the cover. The second was Beyoncé, who decked out the magazine in 2007.

“[They are] two of my role models. So the fact that I can join this group of women, becoming the third black woman on the cover of SI Swimsuit, is a dream come true, "said the young woman in an interview with the magazine. “I am very excited to belong to this brand that has given identity and voice to women of all colors, sizes and beliefs. I hope that the young women who see this cover are inspired to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals.”

The most interesting thing is that the young woman had no idea that one of the photos she had taken on the beautiful beaches of The Bahamas had been chosen for the cover, much less did she imagine that it would be her idol Tyra Banks who would give her the incredible news that as you can see on video left her crying with happiness.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, 'I'm the model on the cover of the Sport Illustrated swimsuit issue,'" the 24-year-old said. “I am eager for everyone to see it. I am excited, but I want to thank the one who believed in me. I worked so hard for that and I feel fulfilled, happy and very excited.”
