The last cosmetic firm to join the cause has been Wet ´n Wild, who has named albino model Diandra Forrest as one of her faces for the Breaking Beauty campaign.
Her face may look familiar to you since, in addition to wearing a couple of seasons on the catwalk, the 27-year-old mannequin appeared in Beyoncé's music video "Pretty hurts", which has more than 186 million views on YouTube.
“I had a modeling coach when I was 14 or 15 years old. She was very cruel, [she was saying things to me] such as "you are too strange, you can never be a model," Forrest said in an interview for the Refinery29 portal in which he also acknowledges that he became a model in order to normalize the way he is represented albinism.
In addition to her, the other 4 faces of this campaign are also pioneers and revolutionaries in the field of fashion and cosmetics: Brianna Márquez, weight lifter and curvy model who has starred in campaigns for firms such as Forever 21 and Luckybrand; Mama Cāx, a Haitian-American blogger, an international relations expert who also has a prosthetic leg and uses her blog to promote diversity among youth and empower people with disabilities; Valentijn de Hingh, a transgender model who has paraded for brands like Margiela or Comme des Garçons and Michele Zauner, an American American singer who succeeds with her indie pop music project, Japanese Breakfast.
This cast of models that break molds has served the brand to promote the launch of its new products, mostly vegan and with the low prices that characterize this brand.
