Step By Step Gina Rodríguez's Hairstyle At The Oscars

Actress Gina Rodríguez was one of the first to parade down the Oscar Awards red carpet. In a blue silk dress custom designed by Manon Gabard, the protagonist of Jane the Virgin (CW) completed her look with jewelry from Neil Lane and an Edie Parker clutch.

Celebrity stylist Paul Norton, for John Frieda, took care of Rodríguez's hairstyle, with whom he has worked on different occasions. "Of all the awards, the Oscars is the most prestigious and glamorous," the barber tells People en Español. "Because it is such a formal event, we agreed that regardless of style, it had to be collected."

Inspired by the recent New York Fashion Week, and the last Tom Ford show, Norton decided to lower the trend of the catwalk and transform it into the elaborate bow that Rodríguez wore in six simple steps.

First, on damp hair he used an anti-frizz primer and dried using a round brush.

Next, she parted her hair into three sections, front, middle, and back, and placed hot rollers in the center of the first section to give it volume.

Then, after applying a serum to prevent frizz, she gathered the back of the hair in a queue to one side. I sprayed it with lacquer and formed a braid that I secured with an elastic. Then she twisted the braid into a bun that she fastened with bobby pins.

After completing the back of the hairstyle, Norton combed the middle section over the bun in separate locks, fastening them with bobby pins.

Finally, she removed the curlers from the front section and brushed her hair lightly for more volume. Lastly, she anchored the front with more bobby pins and sprayed the hairstyle with strong hold hairspray to secure the look.
