Penelope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem became parents for the second time. The Spanish actress gave birth to a girl in a Madrid hospital.
The little girl was born on Monday, July 22, Hola.com reported, the same day as the highly anticipated baby of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The news was confirmed to the Spanish news agency EFE by the press chief of the Ruber Clinic in Madrid, Miguel Fernández, reports the newspaper El País.
Javier Giner, Cruz's representative in Spain, said that in a few days the couple will reveal details about the happy news through a press release, Argentine daily Clarín reported.
The Hola.com site in Spain reported that Penelope entered the clinic on Monday, accompanied at all times by Bardem, and that she has been surrounded by her parents, Eduardo and Encarna, and her brothers, Mónica and Eduardo.
The new member of the Cruz Bardem family joins little Leo, her brother two and a half years older, and her cousin Antonella, the daughter of Mónica (sister of Penelope), born in March.
Penelope remained extremely active until the end of her pregnancy, and last weekend she was seen walking around Madrid in platform shoes and dancing and enjoying a night of music with her husband.
