A man dressed as Elmo was accused of groping a minor in New York's Times Square. The individual, who was dressed as the popular character on children's television, was accused by authorities of touching the butt of a 14-year-old teenager who posed with him for a photo.

According to the New York Post, Inocente Andrade-Pacheco, 54, was handcuffed by police on Saturday at 6:45 pm after being accused by a teenage tourist of groping her. The incident occurred in the touristy area of Broadway and 46 West Street. Prosecutors asked for a bond. The case has caused a stir, and this is reportedly not the first time that a person dressed as a cartoon in Times Square has run into trouble with the law.

Telemundo reports after receiving multiple pedestrian complaints of touchdown, assault, and theft by people in disguise in Times Square, in 2016 New York City passed a law restricting these street performers to designated areas in Times Square.
