Today is the end of La Reina… What was it like to participate in this soap opera?
Sánchez Godoy is a character that for me and also for people really liked. It was a pleasure working with Kate and with all my colleagues like Humberto Zurita. Seeing the success it has had is also because the public received it very well. My character is the simplest, he always has a relaxing phrase.
Do you think that making soap operas about drug traffickers is a negative thing?
Part of our job is to interpret characters, I have always had one thing clear, these stories leave morals for everyone to draw their conclusions, do you want to be like Faustino Sánchez Godoy? Do you want to have such a person by your side? Obvious for many they see him and he is a funny, entertaining character, who is in a difficult environment, but the reality is that he ends up in a prison. Do you want to end up in jail? No, well, don't do it. In the middle of all history we are showing a reality. It is not an ideal path and people have to understand that it is entertainment but also that these stories have a moral.
What was it like working with Kate del Castillo?
It seems to me an actress who gives three hundred percent to her character. He loves doing all the scenes, if for her safety they don't allow it, because he doesn't, but she doesn't want to have doubles. She is the protagonist and transmits it to everyone, she is a generous woman. And most importantly, Kate is cool. I tell you as her partner, she is charming. On set it is very simple.
And with Humberto?
We had already filmed when his wife died. Her stage presence was impressive.
