Authorities suspect that the former Miss Uruguay murdered in Mexico was a victim of human trafficking. Her body was found last Thursday in a hotel in the Mexican capital, according to sources from the local Attorney General's Office.

Primer Impacto (Univision) reports that the place where the young woman was found hanging by the neck in the bathroom of one of the rooms was actually a dating house and Dávila could have been a victim of sexual exploitation.

Authorities reported that the Uruguayan model arrived in Mexico City on April 23 and that a friend of hers helped her settle in this place, where "she would have a work appointment," reports the aforementioned source. The central hotel where she was murdered is located on Altadena street, in the Naples neighborhood.

Dávila - who competed in Miss Universe representing her country and was crowned 'the most beautiful woman in Uruguay' in 2006 - died at 31 years old. The young woman shared a photo on her Instagram account knowing Donald Trump when the current American president owned the beauty pageant.

His social networks also show endless messages from his followers mourning his death and wishing him an eternal rest. “No one knows the pain that can be hidden behind a smile. Life gave her beauty and now gives her peace. May she rest in peace,”wrote one follower. How unfortunate, rest so beautiful young woman. How can it be and not respect women?”Commented another fan.

Dávila's death is being investigated as a homicide. "The victim was found suspended from the neck," reported spokesmen for the Attorney General's Office. The case remains under investigation.
