A former Russian beauty queen has become the queen of Malaysia after marrying the country's king Muhammad V of Kelantan and converting to Islam. Former Miss Moscow Oksana Voevodina, who won the title in 2015, married the King of Malaysia in a lavish ceremony in Moscow, the Daily Mail reported.

Voevodina, 25, previously worked as a model in China and Thailand, while King Muhammad V, 49, ascended the throne in 2016. The royal wedding took place in a concert hall in Moscow's elegant Barvikha neighborhood in November. 22. The former model is the daughter of a surgeon, Andrey Gorbatenko from Rostov-on-Don and is a graduate of the Plekhanov Elite Business School of the Russian University of Economics.

Before her marriage, she is said to have said, “When I was at school, I was a kind of bandit. I liked some skaters, motorcycles, VMX, guys who participated in competitions. I love to ride a bike too. I think that the man should be the head of the family and, of course, he should not earn less than a woman.”
