Alice Marie Johnson, the great-grandmother to whom President Donald Trump commuted his drug sentence, thanks to Kardashian's persuasion, was released from prison and cannot wait to hug his "warrior angel."

After being released, Johnson has said she will soon meet Kardashian to thank her in person.

Johnson spoke this morning on CBS about how he started “screaming and jumping” when Kardashian called Wednesday to give him the news that he would be leaving prison after turning 21 because of his role in a cocaine distribution ring. "It was the most incredible, amazing and overwhelming moment of my life," said Johnson.

As for what she would like to say to Kardashian, “I want to say to my warrior angel, 'Thank you for never giving up. You did it! ', He never abandoned me. He fought and fought until I was free,”she said excitedly. “That is something he said to me: that he would not give up on me. I would like to thank and hug her.”

While there is no set plan for the Kardashian-Johnson in-person meeting, CBS News said it would be "very soon." Last night, Johnson had a "big reunion" with the family, "connecting" with relatives he had kept away for more than two decades.

TMZ said the face-to-face could take place this week. Kardashian is likely to travel to Alabama, which Johnson says has "changed a lot" in the past 20 years.

Kardashian has received much praise from his family for his work to free Johnson, something that started last fall after watching a video produced by Mic that described Johnson's case.
