A North Carolina man was found guilty of murdering his wife and 2-year-old daughter and then posting photos of the horrible crime on Facebook.

Elhadji Seydou Diop, 55, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole for the death of his wife, Aminata Drame, 40. The man was also charged with the second-degree murder of his two-year-old daughter., Fatim, adding 20 to 25 more years in prison.

Reports of the double homicide, which shook the city of Raleigh, emerged on April 5, 2016 when the subject's niece - originally from Senegal - alerted police to a disturbing post that appeared on her Facebook page.

Look what God did to me. A beautiful family. Everything has vanished,”wrote the man in the message that showed two photographs of the deceased.

The police explained that on the day of the murder Diop and his little daughter had gone shopping and that when he returned he set about installing a linoleum floor in his home.

Then came a violent argument between the couple that caused them, at a certain moment, to fall on top of their little daughter whom they apparently suffocated.

When the police arrived at the home, it was discovered that Diop had cut himself and had ingested a toxic substance. An autopsy revealed that his wife had been strangled.

In court, the man confessed that he was experiencing financial problems, as reported by News & Observer. During his trial in Wake County, prosecutors argued that the man posted photos of his wife and daughter to brag them as "trophies." The defense alleged that Diop had hung them as an "altar".

"With this things are closed a little, but Ami [Drame] is gone, we will never see her again," Maimouna Diop, sister of the assassin told ABC 11-WTVD after the verdict. “[She was] beautiful, a woman who worked very hard, was always well dressed. It was full of life."

The man had two older daughters, ages 15 and 12, who now live with his sister and mother.
