A Father Kills His Two Daughters And A Pregnant Wife

Colorado police have found the bodies of two girls believed to be two little sisters allegedly killed by their father.

The City of Frederick posted an update on their Facebook page Thursday night announcing that they "have strong reason to believe" that the bodies are those of Bella, 4, and Celeste Watts, 3, the daughters of Shanann Watts, whose body was found hours earlier the same day. Shanann was pregnant.

“An update to the Shanann Watts investigation: On late August 16, 2018, evidence technicians from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Frederick Police Department located two bodies that police have Reasons to believe are Bella and Celeste Watts, the daughters of Shanann Watts,”the update said.

"While we will not disclose the location of these bodies, the police can say that they were found very close to the other body, which officers firmly believe is Shanann's," he continued.

"The Frederick Police Department and the CBI will not answer any questions and request that all questions from the media be forwarded to the Weld County District Attorney's Office."

Shanann, 34, was 15 weeks pregnant when she and her two daughters disappeared from their Colorado home Monday.

The girls' father, Chris Watts, was arrested by the Frederick Police Department on Wednesday night. Watts made his first court appearance on Thursday, according to The Coloradoan.

The culprit has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of forgery of physical evidence, according to a recording of the Weld County Jail's phone number Thursday afternoon.

CBS Denver reported that Shanann's family said in a statement: “It is with deep pain, confusion and anger to confirm that our beautiful cousin Shanann Watts, her unborn son, and their two angelic daughters, Bella (4), Celeste (3) were cruelly murdered by her husband Chris Watts; who confessed to the murders. Please keep Shanann's parents and brother in your prayers."

Before murdering his wife and daughters, Chris had previously expressed his concern over the disappearance of his family, telling KUSA that he "expects me to be somewhere safe now."
