New York police released a double murder and an apparent suicide in Westchester County this weekend. Authorities answered a call in the town of Pound Ridge on Friday, when they arrived at the residence on Fox Hill Road, they discovered the bodies of three people. According to preliminary investigation, Steven Dym, 56, killed his 50-year-old wife Loretta Dym and his 18-year-old daughter Caroline Dym and later killed himself.
The Westchester County medical examiner will perform autopsies to determine the cause of death for Dym, his wife and daughter.
The woman who cleaned the house was the one who discovered the bodies around 11 in the morning. Pound Ridge Police Chief Dave Ryan said this case so far is the only murder he has seen in the 19 years that he has been in charge of the department.
To this day, the motives that motivated Dym to commit the murders are unknown. Authorities continue to collect evidence from neighbors and family.
