A Danish inventor has his country's authorities intrigued with his strange confessions about what could have caused the death of a Swedish journalist, whose body was found in the sea, butchered.

As reported by The Guardian, Peter Medsen, a self-taught engineer and inventor, recently admitted that he dismembered the body of Kim Wall, a journalist who was traveling with him in the UC3 Nautilus submarine, which he designed himself, but assures that he did not murder her.

On the morning of August 11, Wall's boyfriend, who has written for The Guardian and The New York Times, reported that she had disappeared after going to interview Medsen in his submarine. The 30-year-old communicator wanted to profile her interest in building a space rocket.

That day the inventor had been rescued from the waters of Koge Bay, after having intentionally sunk his submarine in those waters. Ten days later, Wall's headless torso was found floating in that same bay; his head, legs, and clothing were recovered in plastic bags in those same waters on October 7.

Since being questioned by the police the first time, the suspect has changed his version of events several times. First, he said that he had landed her a few hours after starting the trip. He later assured that his interviewer died when a 70-kg hatch accidentally fell on his head and that is why he, terrified, threw his body into the sea. In his latest statement, Wall now indicates that the reporter died of carbon monoxide poisoning when he was on the bridge.

The autopsy results have not yet been revealed, but authorities had already revealed three weeks ago that no trace of a fracture was found in his skull, thus ruling out Wall's statement that the victim had suffered a blow to the head..

Likewise, the authorities have indicated that on the suspect's computer they discovered videos showing the torture and murder of several women, something that they estimate could indicate their fascination with this type of crime.
