This week another tragic news came out around Facebook. A Pennsylvania mother wrote a heartbreaking note on her Facebook wall describing her deep depression. Then she suffocated her one-year-old son and committed suicide.
Among other things, the desperate woman, identified as Sheri Shermeyer and who was a resident of Pennsylvania, wrote: “I have been slowly dying inside. I feel like the only thing I have to live with is this little boy sleeping in my arms right now, John. He is the only reason I haven't exploited my head right now.
“And even now all I can think about is leaving this world. Put a gun in my mouth and go. Which is what's about to happen.”

The message was written on December 26 before noon. Interestingly, none of his Facebook contacts alerted the authorities about it. However, a couple of hours later the police came to his home to carry out a social welfare check-up, and they discovered that the 40-year-old woman had committed suicide with a revolver and had suffocated his young son.
According to the Daily News newspaper, the chilling message he posted on Facebook could have been addressed to the father of his son, since he said in part: “You will never see your son again. You don't deserve to have a child, a legacy. Why should someone carry your name? You are a dirty man.”
