A Texas woman was accused of shooting her boyfriend in the head while she was sleeping, then dismembered him and dumped the remains of her body in trash cans in the area.

According to data obtained by People magazine, Cierra Alexis Sutton, 30, was arrested Thursday on charges of murdering her boyfriend, Steven Coleman, 32. The woman, who has not pleaded guilty, remains in the custody of the authorities and is awaiting trial and returned to Harris County, Texas.

Six days after the murder, police discovered a man's pelvis - mid-thigh to navel - in a local garbage dump. To this day, the DNA results are being awaited. "We don't know if it's definitely him," Baytown Police Lt. Steve Dorris told People.

The case came to light after Sutton appealed to authorities to report Coleman's disappearance, two days after Coleman was killed. According to her, the last time she saw him was around 10:30 pm on August 16 when he left his house to meet his daughter.

However, a friend close to Coleman told authorities that the day he disappeared, he informed him that he would be going to Sutton's home. The same friend said that in a conversation with Coleman, Coleman told him that if he ever went missing, the police should consider Sutton the prime suspect.

To continue the investigation, authorities called Sutton again to ask her some questions and she disappeared. That fact was what alerted the police.

In fact, police documents point out that the day after the murder, a woman who fits the description Sutton used Coleman's credit card to buy a foam mattress and a package of duct tape at Wal-Mart.

Another of the facts that he accused of the woman was the call of an informant that the authorities received and that made them know that Sutton appeared in Louisiana after Hurricane Harvey, and confessed to his brother's girlfriend that he wrapped the parts of the Coleman's body and left them in different garbage cans. The young woman also told authorities that Sutton called her the morning after the murder and told her that she had argued with Coleman and shot him while her 10-year-old daughter Trinity was in the living room. And that apparently she cut her boyfriend's body because it was too heavy to carry in one piece.

It was on August 24, that with a search warrant, the police entered Sutton's apartment and in the bedroom they found traces of blood on the floor next to the bed, on a sheet and also on the bathroom and kitchen floor.

Neighbors in the area have been surprised by Sutton's arrest, as according to some, the couple never gave any indication that they had severe problems.

When questioned after her arrest, Sutton showed no emotion or remorse.
