Many Sephora consumers have expressed their anger through social media, some saying that they are going to start buying their makeup exclusively from Ulta and others expressing how sad they were at the change.

In a new statement from the brand, they clarify the conditions: "We are sorry to have caused any confusion, this change only affects Beauty Insider accounts that have been completely inactive for 18 months [as of December 30, 2017], at which time that these points will be marked as expired”, they explained. "Any Beauty Insider can keep their account active in easy ways, like redeeming points of any value, ordering your free annual birthday gift, or making a purchase with your Beauty Insider account."
