Grandchildren Fight For Cantinflas Inheritance

The controversy over the inheritance of Mario Moreno Cantinflas continues. Now, Mario and Valentina Moreno del Moral, as well as Gabriel and Marisa Moreno Bernat, the comedian's grandchildren, will fight the will of their father Mario Moreno Ivanona, - who designates Aurora Marbez as the universal heir -, to recover the actor's image rights.

"Aurora is the universal heir and in the second instance are her three children, that seems very strange to us," Mario Moreno del Moral warned the Mexican newspaper Reforma. "Maybe Ivanova was influenced, manipulated, or not in his five senses, so we are going to challenge the will."

The sons of Moreno Ivanova, whose relationship with their father was distant, do not intend to demand material goods, only those related to Cantinflas; which includes her personal belongings that are also in the hands of Marbez.

"We are not in the role of speaking ill of him [Moreno Ivanova] because he has passed away and he cannot defend himself, but we are fighting my grandfather's things. A person outside the family, for a short marriage of less than three years, wants to win everything, "he added.

The older grandson of the actor, assures that his grandfather would prefer that his descendants continue with his legacy and not, as in this case, remain in the hands of an “unknown”.

"What we want is for her to stop profiting from the image of my grandfather, she is selling licenses to which we could make better use of it," he said. "She has all of my grandfather's personal items that are still left, the things she had throughout her life, the photographs from her movies."

A few days ago Mario Moreno del Moral and his sister Valentina, declared that the opening of his father's will was carried out under irregular conditions.
