Woman Gives Birth On A Street

A woman gave birth in the middle of the street in Malden, Massachusetts, not knowing that she was pregnant. Doug Rogers said his girlfriend Christine Harvey complained of severe pain Monday. A friend of the couple was going to take her to the hospital when the woman couldn't wait and gave birth on the sidewalk of Salem Street while waiting for the man to bring the vehicle closer to transport her. "She went from here to there and the baby came," Rogers told ABC's WCVB5 channel.

"I thought it was her daughter's doll," said a neighbor about the mother, who already has two children. "No, it's a baby, a baby!" She added surprised. Neighbors called 911 but emergency services arrived when the six-pound, six-ounce girl was born. "I was holding something very small and there was a lot of blood," recalls Rogers. "I put up with her. I was like Huh ?, but it's beautiful,”says the girl's father, who arrived unexpectedly.

Apparently the mother did not notice her growing belly and did not go to the doctor for treatment during her gestation period. Neighbors have offered to help parents who were unable to prepare for the baby's arrival. "It's okay, the girl is fine," added the father. "I am blessed now."

Harvey was not the only mother surprised by the recent arrival of her daughter, but this other surprise was due to the weight of the creature. Chrissy Corbitt, a Florida mom, gave birth to a baby girl who weighed nearly 14 pounds. The girl, who has been baptized Carleigh, came to the world a week in advance through a cesarean section and caused a great sensation, as reported by the ABC network. "When the doctor was pulling her out of me, I started listening to everyone in the operating room laughing excitedly," recalls Corbitt. "When they showed it to me and said [it weighed] 13 lbs 5 ozs, I couldn't believe it."
