The controversial Puerto Rican rapper Tempo was arrested early Thursday morning along with three other people by the police in San Juan, Puerto Rico, who had detained him for an alleged violation of traffic laws when he was traveling in a Mercedes Benz car in the town. de Bayamón, according to the Puerto Rican press.
According to the police report quoted by the media, the car was stopped at 1:26 am, local time, by the San Juan Highway Patrol division for a violation of traffic laws. The text adds that controlled substances were found inside the vehicle.
"It appears that a strong smell of marijuana was expelled from the vehicle, so the K9 Division (Canine Unit) was called, where a police dog marked positive for controlled substances," the report explains.
With that arrest, the urban singer - whose name is David Sánchez Badillo - returns to problems with justice 3 years after being released after serving a 14-year sentence for drug trafficking.
The arrest comes shortly after the artist's bitter dispute with his compatriot René Pérez Joglar Resident about urban music, in which Tempo accused former Calle 13 of criticizing it after taking advantage of it to achieve fame.
In his response in the form of the topic “My Apologies,” Resident made a reference to autism and Down syndrome that did not sit well with some organizations that help people affected by these health disorders.
In fact, the Puerto Rico Autism Alliance claimed an apology on Twitter. “Your inclusion of the word autism and Down syndrome in your tiraera a Tempo is wrong. We demand a public apology,”the entity said in a tweet.
The singer, for his part, assured that his words in the song had been taken out of context.
