Carolina Herrera's Nephew Killed

The unrelenting wave of violence in Venezuela took the life of designer Carolina Herrera's nephew , Reinaldo Herrera, and his partner, Fabrizio Mendoza, on Thursday.

The Venezuelan newspaper El Universal reported that the body of the 34-year-old businessman and his 31-year-old partner were discovered in the El Topo sector of the old Caracas-LaGuaira highway with bullet wounds to the head.

The two friends were apparently outside the Rey David de La Boyera restaurant, which is next to the office of their architectural firm, when they were intercepted by a group of criminals who violently subdued Fabrizzio and forced him to contact the service lady of your home to deliver various valuables.

It is believed that the employee was surprised by the orders she received and preferred to leave the apartment. The kidnappers then proceeded to the residence, from which they would have stolen cash, jewelry, and other valuables.

According to the newspaper, all this was recorded in the building's security cameras, which captured the presence of five subjects and the victim.

At around one in the afternoon, the local authorities received a complaint about the kidnapping and immediately began an investigation. For now it is unknown why the kidnappers decided to end the lives of the two professionals.

The family assured that at no time did they have communication with the kidnappers and they had not been asked for ransom.
