The success of the youth soap opera Rebelde would hardly have been possible without one of its six protagonists: Anahí, Dulce María, Alfonso Herrera, Christopher Uckermann, Maite Perroni and Christian Chávez. Everyone, each in their own way and style, contributed their grain of sand to make fiction and the musical group RBD that made up the phenomenon that was so great.

What we did not know until now is that Anahí may not have been part of the Rebelde story since, as the actress and singer herself revealed recently in her podcast 'They are there', Televisa did not want her to be the protagonist of the soap opera.

"They refused at the company," said the charismatic 36-year-old interpreter.

“Right now I can say it because I don't even work there anymore, they refused. They said 'this is not, we are going to cast everyone',”revealed the star 15 years after the premiere of Rebelde.

And, although the producer of the soap opera, Pedro Damián, was clear from the beginning that Anahí was Mía Colucci, the company apparently did not approve of his decision.

“The Rebelde casting was an exhaustive casting. And the one they were looking for the most was Mia and they tried all the actresses in Latin America, Mexico, singers and there was no other Mia and Pedro said it 'there is no other mine than Anahí'. And so Anahí was the last one,”said ex-BDB Christian Chávez, who was a guest on the last podcast program that Anahí and his sister Marichelo have.

"Everybody you can imagine went through that casting and nobody had the angel Anahí had to do it," added Christian.
