Armani Crews, a girl who lives in Chicago, wanted to celebrate her 6 years of life in a very different way than that of all children her age.
The little girl asked her parents to cancel her party to feed the homeless. Her mother proposed to her to distribute sandwiches, but Armani insisted on giving them what she would have had at her party. "Okay, as long as they can eat, I'm fine," she said.
The instinct for help grew in the girl since she saw her older brother give the leftovers to a man in the street. Thanks to her mother, Artesha Crews, the girl's plans were spread through Facebook and family friends and coworkers donated different things.
Her birthday was celebrated on March 8. That day, Armani wore a crown and together with other volunteers prepared the packages for 125 people who lined up to receive the food. "It was a beautiful thing to see and a blessing," his mother told CNN. "A man told us he hadn't had a hot meal in a long time."
