As Donald Trump deals with the crisis in Syria and other political tensions from the White House, former US President Barack Obama enjoys a vacation in Tahiti with his wife Michelle Obama. Tahiti's TNTV television station released footage on Sunday of Michelle Obama paddleboarding and Barack Obama swimming in a lagoon.

The photos were taken by several people who were also vacationing on the paradisiacal island of Moorea and who saw the former presidential couple sailing in a boat and enjoying the good weather. According to the TNTV report, the former president looked in a very good mood and took selfies with several people. People magazine reported that the Obamas are staying at the luxurious resort The Brando that actor Marlon Brando bought in 1967 as his personal oasis.

The former president is writing a book of his memories of the White House while enjoying the beaches and a turtle sanctuary in the South Pacific, according to The Washington Post. The Brando has received other celebrities such as actor Leonardo Dicaprio, who celebrated his birthday in November at that resort in French Polynesia.

After leaving the White House in January, the Obama family also enjoyed a few days in Hawaii. When he returns to the United States, Barack Obama is expected to resume his working life. It has already been reported in the British press that he will be part of a charity event in Scotland on May 26.
