Authorities announced they found the body of Stephanie Parze, a 25-year-old girl who went missing in October 2019. The remains of the New Jersey makeup artist were found Sunday. The Monmouth County prosecutor announced via Twitter that the remains of Stephanie Parze were found in a wooded area of Old Bridge, and that the medical examiner confirmed her identity Monday morning.

The young woman was found dead more than two months after her ex-boyfriend, who was questioned by authorities as a suspect in the crime, committed suicide. John Ozbilgen was found dead at his home in November after hanging himself, according to police.

The 29-year-old man took his own life after being released from prison, where he spent 11 days after being charged with possession of child pornography, a case unrelated to the death of his ex-girlfriend. According to the Asbury Park Press, Parze accused Ozbilgen of domestic violence, filing a complaint against him on September 23, alleging that he had assaulted her.

The young woman was last seen on the night of October 30, when she went to visit a medium, according to her relatives. The last time she contacted her parents was that day at 10 p.m., when she texted them on Snapchat saying she was on her way home.

Her parents worried when she didn't go to work as a babysitter the next morning and found her car, cell phone, and wallet at Parze's house, but she was missing. She reportedly started dating Ozbilgen last summer, but her Facebook profile described her as 'single' when she went missing.

Ozbilgen sent her several text messages full of insults and swear words the night before she disappeared, the prosecution in court argued. Detectives who checked Ozbilgen's cell phone found images of child pornography, according to reports.

"Our family is devastated," Stephanie's father Edward Parze said during a press conference following the discovery of the young woman's body. "But Stephanie is home, she's finally coming home to where she should be, and we thank God for that."

A family friend created a GoFundMe account to raise money for Parze's loved ones during their search.
