Wrestler Brian Christopher Lawler Dies After Suicide Attempt

Brian Christopher Lawler, star of the World Wrestling Federation (WWE), died last Sunday in the state of Tennessee, in what appears to have been suicide.

The ex-wrestler was found without vital signs in a cell at the Hardeman County Jail, where he was serving a sentence for driving under the influence, driving with an expired driving license, and evading arrest.

As revealed by People magazine through a report on its online site, Lawler reportedly attempted to kill himself by hanging himself inside his holding place on Saturday night. "Prison officials administered CPR while paramedics arrived … he was transported to the Regional One Medical Center in the city of Memphis, where he died on Sunday afternoon," the authorities in charge of the investigation said.

Of course, the news has generated great sadness among lovers of this popular sport around the world and through social networks a member of the Lawler family also expressed his great sadness at the situation.

"There are different stories and rumors today about my brother. He passed away 30 minutes ago. I love you and I will miss you brother! A very sad day, words cannot describe him," Kevin Lawler wrote on his Facebook account Sunday, brother of the deceased athlete and who is also part of the world of fighting as a judge.

Lawler, recognized in the ring with the name of Grand Master Sexay, began his career in wrestling in the year of 1998, when he was still a teenager. His last appearance as a professional wrestler was in 2014.
