The President of the United States, Barack Obama, welcomed Christmas at the White House with Salsa singer Marc Anthony and Mexican-American actress Eva Longoria.
The Christmas tree lights lighting ceremony was held Thursday night at the presidential residence in Washington, DC Among those invited to the celebration were also Kelly Clarkson, The Lumineers, James Taylor and Chance The Rapper.
“[It was] a night full of unforgettable memories. Good evening everyone,”wrote the ex-husband of Jennifer López at the foot of the photo he published on his Instagram account, after singing the Christmas carol“Jingle Bells”:
This event is a tradition that dates back to 1923, when then-President Calvin Coolidge lit the lights on a fir tree located in the elliptical garden of the White House.
This is the last Christmas of the Obama in the White House since next January 20 President-elect Donald Trump will take office and proceed to occupy the White House, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Obama and his family will move to a mansion located in the exclusive Kalorama neighborhood of Washington.
