Three years ago, Gerardo Ortiz released a music video for the song “Fuiste mía” which, in addition to supporting the crime, presented a clear case of violence against women; Since then, in Jalisco, Mexico, the singer's performances have been banned. For this reason, when the authorities of this entity found out about the concert that the interpreter of "As you are" would offer, they immediately canceled it.

"Three years ago, when a video of the singer Gerardo Ortiz was presented, we declared this artist in Zapopan non-pleasant, especially for his apology for crime and, above all, also for promoting violence against women," explained Ricardo Villanueva, municipal president of Zapopan in a video that he made public. "It turns out that this artist wanted to perform in the municipality of Zapopan, in the next few days, I just sent a letter to the Telmex Auditorium, [where the show would take place] to report that the permission to sell the ticket for this concert is completely discontinued".

According to this official representative, "violence lacerates society every day"; For this reason, it considers it vitally important that efforts be made at different levels of government to prevent aggressions of any kind from normalizing.

"This issue of protecting women, around the violence that is being experienced, is something that we all must work together," he added.
