A woman found an unknown child sleeping inside a cardboard box on the porch of her New York home. The woman called the Buffalo Police Department upon seeing the three-year-old boy alone inside the box where stray cats used to sleep. Police are now looking for the parents of the Hispanic boy. A mile from the site they also found a burned car with human remains inside.

The boy's parents were identified as Nicole Merced Plaud and Miguel Anthony Valentín-Colón, WKBW reported. Authorities continue to analyze the remains of the burned car. According to the woman who found the boy, he kept repeating: "The car is burning." However, the police have not yet connected the two incidents that are under investigation.

Lois Augsburger, the woman who found the child, said the experience had been "very traumatic". The woman told WKBW that she hugged the little boy and when asked where his parents were, only spoke of a burning car. Police found the minor in good health.

During a press conference, the police explained that the little boy does not speak much, which makes it difficult to investigate the whereabouts of his parents and it seemed strange that nobody called to report him as missing. Seeing a Facebook post about the minor, her grandmother Zenaida Colin, who lives in Florida, called the Buffalo Police Department and said it was her grandson Noelvin. The grandmother said she had not spoken to Noelvin's parents since Sunday.

Police found the burned car about 10 hours after finding the boy in the doorway just a mile away. Authorities reported Noelvin's parents as missing. Police are searching for Plaud, 24, Valentin-Colon, 31, and a friend of both, Dhamyl Mirella Roman-Audiffred, 29.

They were all Orlando residents and according to their relatives they had gone on a trip to New York. Her relatives anxiously await whether the human remains found inside the burned car belong to the three missing, The Buffalo News reported.
