Eddie Clarke, the first official guitarist for the rock band Motörhead, has died at 67.
The news was released this Thursday through a statement that the band disclosed on its official networks.
“We are devastated to pass on the news we just heard tonight. Edward Allan Clarke, or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke, passed away peacefully yesterday,”the statement said.
The guitarist died in a London hospital where he was hospitalized for pneumonia.
Eddie became part of the group in 1976 and participated in successful albums like Overkill, Ace of Spades, Iron Fist and Bomber. The guitarist was the last original member of the group, led by Lemmy Kilmister.
Other rock and roll legends that impacted his death were Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. The leader of the band Soundgarden took his life in May 2017. Two months later, Bennington's lifeless body was found at his home in Palos Verdes, CA.
