Man Prevents Suicide By Risking His Life

We don't talk to strangers, they tell us when we are boys, but it was a stranger who prevented a girl from killing herself at a New York City train station last Saturday afternoon.

As reported by CBS Network, a young woman, from whom her identity was not revealed, was prepared to jump from a steel beam located around 20 feet high on one of the train lines.

A man who was passing by that same place, realized the situation and did not hesitate for a second to risk his life to get to where the inconsolable girl was. After talking to her for a few minutes, he managed to reconsider her so that she would give up her suicidal intentions.

Witnesses who witnessed the scene thought that the man was a friend of the young woman, but soon discovered that it was a stranger trying to save her. "It was just an ordinary person who went to comfort her," Michal Klein, who witnessed what happened, revealed to CBS cameras.

The moment was recorded in a photograph that now circulates on social networks and in which the hero of the situation is very affectionately consoled the girl.

Apparently, the efforts of that courageous stranger paid off, as he managed to get the young woman down from the dangerous beam of the station located in the popular area of the East Village in Manhattan.

Reports add that the emergency agencies arrived at the scene and at around 4:20 pm the girl was removed from the scene aboard an ambulance. "I hope she gets help," added Klein.
