In a new case of a father who allegedly abandons his son in a shopping area, this time in Suinsin, California, an 18-year-old father is being accused of parting with his daughter without any qualms in a mall parking lot.

According to People, on Monday the police of that city went to the Sunset Shopping Center after receiving a call from the employee of a barber shop, who had just seen a man get out of his car to leave, in the middle of two parking spaces, the baby seat, with the child inside. The good Samaritan picked up the poor creature who kept crying, and introduced her to his business.

When the police arrived and reviewed the security videos, they identified the license plate of the vehicle and its owner: Daniel Mitchell. However, officers did not have to work long to find him as he had just been arrested about five minutes from there, for colliding his vehicle and fleeing the scene of the accident.

When questioned by the agents, he himself confirmed that the baby abandoned in that shopping center was his. Mitchell was arrested on charges of child threat, neglect of a minor, commission of a felony while on bail, and possible possession of cocaine.

This is not the first meeting of this subject with authority, just on June 27 he had been arrested for his alleged role in a robbery. On that occasion, he was charged with multiple felony charges in connection with that incident, including possession of a firearm.

The baby had to be airlifted to a hospital where he is in critical condition.

Police have contacted the baby's mother, who is not facing criminal charges at this time, while Mitchell, who is still in police custody, has not ruled on any of his charges or hired an attorney so far.
