To celebrate her mom Diane Willoughby completing her cancer treatment, Ashley Larson dressed her gorgeous 3-year-old girl, Scout Larson, just like her brave grandmother and took inspiring photos of the same poses she plans to publish in a book.

According to People magazine, in April last year doctors diagnosed Willoughby, 57, with breast cancer, a news story she faced with six rounds of intense chemotherapy from June to September and a double mastectomy a few months later. To celebrate the end of that odyssey, her daughter took some photos - like the one below these lines - in which Willoughby and her granddaughter wear t-shirts with inspirational messages such as: “Nonnie [grandma's nickname] is free Of cancer. Let's celebrate!".

The witty photographer had previously experienced great acceptance for other photos she took of her little daughter dressing her as celebrities and making her emulate some of the poses of those celebrities. Among the stars he imitated: the missing actress Carrie Fisher; the young winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Malala Yousafzai; actress Betty White and singer Adele.

"But the mother is the ultimate role model," says Larson. “We have lost some family members to breast cancer, and when this diagnosis came it was terrifying. When my mom started losing her hair and became so sick, the children were confused but understood that she was a strong lady and would get better."

These photos, adds its creator, have also been a kind of therapy for her mother. "It was comforting for her to show Scout how strong women are and that her grandmother will be fine."

The result could not be better; now the nice granddaughter admires her grandmother more than ever. "She thinks my mother is as hard as steel!" Larson says. "He says to everyone, 'My nonnie has her hair back, she's not sick anymore.'"
