As a mother of three, Kate Middleton is always on the alert when a little one needs help, so it was no surprise that the Duchess of Cambridge came to the rescue of a girl during her visit to Ely and Careu Children's Center in the UK.

Middleton could not help cleaning a little girl's hand when she saw it filled with sand, an act that led the manager of the place to offer her a job. "You have the job, when can you start?" Carolyn Asante jokingly asked Middleton.

According to Asante, the duchess did not object to the offer, although due to her duties within British royalty she cannot perform any employment outside of what Queen Elizabeth established.

"I said, 'You have the job,' and she said, 'I wish,'" Asante told reporters.

This added that the parents and children of the compound were comfortable with the presence of the wife of the future King of England, since Middleton understands and cares about the children and their development, as reported by PEOPLE.

"Our children quickly measure people who genuinely care about them, and if they are not, they don't even bother with them," he said.

He added that Middleton was with the babies and visited an outdoor cabin where children play. The duchess further revealed that she would have liked to have a similar center near her home when she became the mother of Prince George.

Kate's visit to the center is part of her 24-hour UK tour to show the impact early care and education have on a child's life. The tour also includes a visit to a women's prison to meet some of the inmates whom he met during another visit he made there previously.
