How is your character, Jules Reyes, in your next release, the action film Pacific Rim Uprising?

She is a character that I loved playing because she is an extremely strong woman who does not depend on a man. [There are] two main characters who are pilots and are behind her, but she has too many things on her hands, one of them is the life of all human beings, so she doesn't have time to flirt. She is very good at what she does, highly enterprising and focused.

Do you feel identified with her?

Yes, I think I am very independent, I have been working since I was 16 years old. I feel like I'm a better woman and that I can be more romantically available because I've been so independent. I can complement a relationship, instead of depending on it, and I love that. Obviously I wanted to be a little [more] like Jules, but we are not all perfect. I am human and we all have insecurities.

Now that you live in Los Angeles, do you have a favorite salon or beauty center there?

I'm really very bad about it. Thank God I have a makeup artist who is the best in the world and she is advising me what to buy and what not to buy. She and my mom discover everything. I put on my cremitas, I take care of myself, but I don't get treatments … I'm quite natural [and] I'm also 25 years old.

As the daughter of a model, you will have received many tips and beauty tips …

Too many! My mom has a process before going to bed and when she gets up … [People ask me:] 'What is your mom doing? It looks spectacular, it looks super young. ' My mom is too pretty, too beautiful. And I [say:] 'The massage from the neck up, never down, everything on the face always up. [The cream is applied] to the eyes from the outside in. ' It also tells me that when I put cream on, I massage it to hydrate me well, my lips are always super hydrated … I sometimes forget these things because I am a disaster.

And you, how do you take care of your skin?

I get up, wash my face and apply serum. If I have a meeting, I put on a mask, have my coffee, breakfast, and then I start the makeup process, depending on my day. I don't like having a face full of makeup, I like to look glowy and natural. I also have a lot of moles on my face and I hate when a makeup base covers them.

What kind of products do you like to use on your hair?

My problem is that I wash it a lot. My mom is always scolding me that I don't have to wash it so much, it dries up. Everyone is scolding me. But I go to the gym a lot and I can't go to bed like this, it's disgusting.

What is your favorite makeup look?

Right now, he gave me an Anastasia eyeliner that my makeup artist has [recommended] and it is great. The other day I went out to dinner and my boyfriend took the cat eye from me because [I thought it was] a stain and he said: 'But what is that?' [laughs]. I get too bad, horrible. I'm going to ask my makeup artist to show me on FaceTime.

How do you choose your looks for the red carpet?

I am the most indecisive person. For me, fashion is all humor, it is highly personal and it is a way of expressing yourself. I do the test [of the dresses] three days before the event, but I don't know how I'm going to feel that day, so what I do with my stylist is that we first choose three [models] and the same day of the event I wear with which you are most comfortable.

What are your favorite brands and designers for events and for everyday life?

My favorite brand is Dior. They stand up to my hair. [Dressing in his clothes] more than a day is a dream. For the day to day, I really like mother jeans and Levi's, Isabel Marant, Rag and Bone and James Perse white shirts, I have about 50.

Do you remember what has been the biggest fashion whim you've given yourself?

I remember perfectly. I was at the London airport and I saw a blue Chanel wallet. Before, I always bought everything black or white, I couldn't afford to buy something blue, because if you are going to buy something expensive, you buy it black, right? Or a neutral color. For me, being able to pay for a blue wallet was like … 'I think I have succeeded, I already have!' Besides, I thought about it for three hours. 'Could it be that I buy it? Is it not?' In the end I said to myself: 'You know what? I'm going to allow myself this gift. '

Is that the most special piece in your wardrobe?

I have a pair of Steve Madden boots that I bought myself years ago, they are black velvet and there has not been an audition I have done without them. They are my lucky boots. A meeting, everything, I do it with those boots and they are filthy.

Which women are icons of style for you?

Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman. They are not only beautiful, they are extremely intelligent, talented, risky in choosing characters, their personal lives are totally private, every time they appear on the red carpet or in magazines they look impeccable and have a lot of class.

What makes you the happiest in the world?

Act and my family.
