Narrow green pyramids decorated the catwalk for designer Carolina Herrera, who dazzled her spring / summer 2015 collection at New York Fashion Week.

The Venezuelan opted for dresses and jackets structured in vibrant colors such as coral and yellow, inspired by the tones of the flowers, which we also saw large prints on the rich fabrics. The garments, with marked geometric lines, surprised by the mix of delicate fabrics such as tulle and silk, with leather pieces that created volume and gave the outfits a certain technological air without losing an iota of femininity.

Orlando Pita, with Biosilk products, took care of the hairstyle. Inspired by the Japanese influence in the collection, with the large flowers and strong silhouettes that reminded the stylist of geisha dresses, he wanted to adapt the look of sumo wrestlers to the catwalk. "It complements the garments because it has defined and graphic shapes", explains Pita. “The key is fixing spray, we have practically used one bottle per model. The sumo becomes a ponytail, passes the elastic leaving a loop. We have cut the tip diagonally”.

Makeup artist Diane Kendal for MAC was the makeup artist. “We wanted something sophisticated, elegant, defined but chic. We have used gold and brown tones on the eyelid, with shine. Fuller eyebrows and rosy cheeks,”she says of her design for Herrera. "The most important thing has been the lips, there are five sections in the show so we have used five different lipsticks."

If the makeup was sophisticated, the nails were not far behind. "It's a deep red," says Michelle Saunders, Essie's manicurist. "With so many bright shades in the collection, it's a neutral shade that goes with everything and is classic."
