After several years in front of the CNN en Español cameras, the communicator Ismael Cala made one of the strongest decisions of his career; focus full time on your business and its Ismael Cala Foundation.
As both projects grew larger, the author of "Life is a Piñata" made a stop in journalism and found a new definition of success. We talked with the Cuban about some of the keys that make him feel proud today.
How did it feel to leave CNN and make a transition from television to your business?
They needed my energy, I was traveling too much and the relevance of a program that has to have the driver posted there every day pending the most important event of the day to talk about it in a live edition, I already feared that my trips were even affecting my own result as a journalist who has to be aware of current events.
How was the change?
“I am a fan of high human performance and that is what I do today as with organizations, as an individual, with the online academy, with the meditation application. I do miss that window, but I don't regret it.”
What is your definition of success?
“We are social beings and that need for external approval can never be completely eliminated because if you do not isolate yourself and become a hermit and you will live in a cave. I took my concept of success to an inner level because I would say that I lived on a roller coaster of high and low emotions, depression and euphoria, according to what others told me about my dedication, my performance."
What has changed over the years?
“When you focus well on the concept of success, I believe that your priorities will be able to fulfill the prophecy of how you feel success. The concept for me changed. When I was in my twenties, success was beyond me. I felt successful if I felt that others applauded me, if they promoted me, if I felt validated by others, shares Cala.
