Oh no, say it ain't so! Ed Sheeran could be quitting music after his latest tour, and PLEASE DON'T DO IT ED!

As you might know, Ed Sheeran recently released his third album ÷ earlier this year. The British singer proceeded the collection with his hit single "Shape Of You," and completely smashed streaming records in the process. What's more, the singer has been sharing some sweet, hilarious, and downright bizarre stories, too. Whether it's opening up about hitting Justin Bieber with a golf club, sharing his dating mistakes, or gushing about his partner Cherry Seaborn, Ed has some pretty wise and funny things to say, on top of his incredible music.

But now there are some fresh rumors that Ed Sheeran might be about to take a step back from music, and we're not sure we can handle it

The singer is currently on his massive ÷ world tour, but it seems that it could be his last one for a while.

According to a source as quoted by The Daily Star and NME, the singer wants to take a break from music to have a "more normal life."

"Ed has pretty much achieved everything there is to achieve in music," the source told The Daily Star. "He absolutely loves what he does and is riding the wave of his success at the moment, but at the same time he wants a more normal life."

Continuing, the source said that if Ed were to get married and have children, they would take center stage for him.

"When or if he gets married he wants to put his wife and kids first and not his career. If that means going AWOL for years then so be it," they said.

The rumors come after Ed himself told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 that when he became a dad he'd take some time out.

"When they hit four or five and start primary school, I'm just out," I've told the radio host. "I think [Bruce] Springsteen took an extended break when his kids went to school. I think that's going to be me. I want to set up a little studio in the countryside and have new artists come down."

Of course, if Ed does decide to take some time out or even give up music entirely, we'll 100 percent support his decision. And if he's doing it to focus on his family, that's an amazing and brilliant thing. Obviously, we'd totally miss him ruling the airwaves, but we totally respect and understand if that's the route he wants to go down.

Regardless, we've got LOADS of time until the singer's current tour finishes, so, while we'll to wait and see what happens next, we've got plenty of opportunities for a fix of Ed Sheeran.
