On Monday morning, Hispanic business leaders had the opportunity to meet with President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, first daughter Ivanka Trump among other top administration officials.

The US President sat down at a roundtable discussion with Hispanic women business owners. The visit was organized by the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce after Latina entrepreneurs met with Ivanka Trump at a private event in DC earlier this month. The first daughter spent time with the invitees discussing several issues including resources available to Latino business owners and the Stanford Latino Entrepreneur Leaders Program.

One of the Latina entrepreneurs at the table was Lili Gil Valletta, CEO and co-founder of CIEN + CulturIntel and one of our Poderosas Live! panel speakers from this past weekend. The other Latinas to sit down with the President include Patricia Funegra, founder and CEO of La Cocina VA, Dyan Medina Gibbens, former Air Force Captain now founder and CEO of the drone company Trumbull Unmanned, Claudia Mizra, an immigrant from Colombia founder and CEO of Akorbi a global provider of multilingual services and staffing.

Among many issues, some of the topics discussed with Trump included mentoring and SBA programs.

When asked about her meeting with Ivanka Trump during the “Entrepreneur Woman: Make Your Idea A Reality” panel at People en Español's Poderosas Live! event last Saturday, Gil Valletta said, “My mission is to represent and educate on the challenges that we face as Hispanic entrepreneurs so that we are respected. That is why my party is the Latinos' party.”
