López is the first to admit how complicated love relationships have been for her. So after ending his relationship with Beau Casper Smart last year, he realized it was time to take inventory.

"I had to make a commitment to myself to be alone: no flirting, no possibility of anything, no boy, in any way or form," explains the actress in a revealing interview. "I said, 'I'm knocking it all down. I have never been alone."

The also singer, who posed spectacularly with her children in her Los Angeles home, acknowledged that to feel complete she always needed a partner.

"I always found my comfort zone in someone else," observes López, whose divorce from singer Marc Anthony was finalized in June 2014, three years after their separation. "Instead of giving me time to heal and be alone, I was so scared of being what I was saying, 'Okay, someone else to come here and help me forget the reason why I feel so much pain.'"

López, whose new movie The Boy Next Door, opens this Friday, also referred to his fear of not finding a partner.

Although she is now single, the 45-year-old artist claims to continue believing in love stories with a happy ending.

"I still create the fairy tale," he admits. "The more I get to know myself, the more I give myself the opportunity to share a deep and meaningful relationship that will give me that fairy tale and that will last forever."

Although he adds: “I am not rushing in any way, shape or style. And I'm not looking."
