After five years, Tiona Rodríguez is finally sentenced for a terrible murder that took place in 2013. The then-17-year-old mother was arrested in New York for killing her young son and carrying him dead in her bag while shopping with her. a friend in the famous Victoria´s Secret store.
The young woman raised the suspicions of a security guard and after confirming that she was stealing some jeans, she decided to stop her. It was at that moment that they noticed that a terrible smell was coming out of her bag and when checking what it was, the authorities realized that Tiona was carrying a lifeless baby, as reported by the New York Post newspaper.
To this terrifying gesture we must add the messages found on Rodríguez's phone in which he referred to the little boy and his death in a cold way and without any remorse or guilt. "Take this shit, make a hole, put it somewhere, laughs, and then we're going to eat at IHOP," he wrote cruelly.
According to the district attorney, the young woman left the boy in the bathtub of a friend's apartment and intentionally killed the newborn, PIZ11 confirmed. With just 8 pounds of birth weight, the boy died suffocated shortly after coming into the world.
In order to avoid life imprisonment, Rodríguez pleaded guilty and has finally been sentenced to 16 years in prison. Today, 21 years old, she has another son who was still younger, exactly at 14. According to the killer's lawyers, in reality what she wanted was to hide her pregnancy from her parents because she already had that other son. It was in this way that she gave birth to her son in the bathtub where she finally passed away, reports the NY Daily News.
