Two Florida computer animation students have gained general interest with their first animated short film, in which they address the issue of a gay student couple. Her film was released on Monday on YouTube and already achieved 10 million views in a few days.

The short film is called In a Heartbeat, and it features Sherwin, a shy young man struggling to keep his heart from leaping out of his chest and running after a classmate, exposing his feelings to others.

In November last year the creators of In a Heartbeat, students Beth David and Esteban Bravo launched a campaign on Kickstarter (a platform for creative initiatives), to fund their project. The initial goal was to raise utadora. It is a film that deals with a real and personal subject in a very sweet and joyful way and we are very excited to be able to share it with you!”

The short film is a semifinalist for best animated film at the 2017 Student Oscars.

David and Bravo graduated this year from Ringling College of Art Design in Sarasota, Florida, the same student center from which two Oscar winners in cartoon direction have already graduated, Brandon Oldenburg and Patrick Osborne.
